Godzilla – Director Gareth Edwards in Toronto

This past Thursday, although, the weather wasn’t cooperating, it was raining quite a bit. But that didn’t stop Godzilla fans from standing around the barricades to meet director of this blockbuster movie, Gareth Edwards. First, he let the TV media to interview him first. One-by-one, he answered the TV Hosts’ questions. Mad respect to the TV Crew staff who works in this industry, they were standing in the cold and wet rain for more than 2 hours and protecting their high quality expensive equipment in order to capture the footage to share with their audiences.

After the interviews, Gareth greeted the fans who were soaking wet, waiting patiently to seek his autographs, taking a photo with him or just to talk to him. At one point, the meet & greet was cut short as Gareth is late to attend the advanced screening of the movie at the AMC Theatre at Dundas Square. But a twist of turn, Gareth told his PR that he would like to stay just a little bit longer to greet the fans and then he decided to come back and signed more autographs, took more photos (including myself) with everyone, including little kids. He was a friendly, sincere gentleman who really appreciates the fans and took the time to interact with the fans.

Best of luck to Gareth in his career and hope for a huge boxoffice score in the theatre which Godzilla is currently playing!

Below are some photos that I took during Director Gareth Edwards meet and greet with the Godzilla fans:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Official Trailer

I grew up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I recalled everyday, I would run back home to watch the show. Even if it was a re-run, I don’t get bored. My favourite ninja turtle is Michaelangelo because he is fun-loving, chill, relax and knows how to have fun, exactly how I live my life.

From the trailer, I think Director, Michael Bay chose the right person to play the reporter, April O’Neil character, which is Megan Fox. She fits very well in this movie. I do however, thinks the ninja turtles faces looks a bit too wide, kind of ugly looking with a hamburger head shape. Nevertheless, I am still excited for this movie.

Here is the official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trailer

Is Justin Bieber Retiring?

In the past week, popular Justin Bieber hinted that he is considering retirement. He said that in a radio show and just a few hours ago, on the eve of his latest movie release called “Believe” that Bieber tweeted about his intention to retire. He said that the media talks alot of lies and want him to fail.

Do you think Justin Bieber is retiring? Do you think this is just his publicity stunt to get people’s attention to his latest movie release “Believe”, opening in theatre on Christmas Day?

Tell me your thoughts.

His latest movie, “Believe” opens in all theatres on Christmas Day.

Legos – Hobbit Movie

When my friends posted photos of the Hobbit action figures in Lego forms on Facebook, I immediately had to ask her where the Lego were located. She told me it was at the Eaton Centre. I love Lego! It’s one of my favourite toys when I was a child. The Lego pieces allowed me to build whatever I wanted to build.

So…this past Wednesday, I walked over to the Eaton Centre and I saw a life-size Hobbit Lego House and recognized some of the Hobbit action figures. I got to say, they were very cute and they did look like the characters in the movie. I thought the marketing team for the Hobbit movie did a great job. It’s the holiday season, lots of kids go to the shopping mall. It clearly got my attention that the Hobbit movie will be out soon. Now, that’s effective marketing. You may want to test your luck to see if this awesome Lego display is still around during the rest of the Christmas holidays, which I think it will. Be sure to check it out if you are around the area.

A little sad note though, as I reviewed one of the Lego photos that I took, it also mark the last Christmas I will be seeing the Sears store at the Eaton Centre since Sears will be closing down this location. It gave me lots of great memories in the past.

Lego House also reminded me of Ed Sheehran‘s track “Lego House“. Let’s check out his music video below.

I wish everyone have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays! Just like the Lego house, I hope everyone can continue to build something they would like to see in the new year of 2014 in their lives!

Hello Canada Party – TIFF13 Flashback

Now that TIFF 13 has come to a close, I had a great time, meeting industry people and interesting people who works in the industry. It was great for me to cover TIFF exclusive VIP parties and events, as well attending various film screening and being able to talk to directors and actors about their TIFF experiences and their films.

One particular event that I got invited into was the well-known magazine called “Hello Canada”. As I went in there, I bumped into many familiar faces. Kardinal Offishall, as he was about to leave the party to go to the next one, I wanted to take a photo with him. His PR told him to get going. Kardy said “No! No! I got to chat and take photo with this guy, he is dope!” I thank Kardy for that. In fact, we bumped into each other for 3 straight evenings in a roll. He teased me and said “Man, we are seeing each other so often!” I replied, “well, that’s because we both know where the great parties at!” We both laughed out loud.

I also saw many Degrassi actors, in particular, Luke Bilyk, whom I interviewed him at last year’s American Next Top Model Convention. I also bumped into the boyband, Neverest, which I interviewed before, they opened for the Backstreet Boys in their previous tour.

I saw Olympians Patrick Chan and Tessa Virtue. I also bump into Russell Peters, he was the most popular one there and he made funny facial expressions in everyone’s photos. He was busy chatting but the moment I walked up to him and complimented his pink blazer, he stopped his chat and started chatting with me and complimented my orange bowtie and blazer as well.

Most importantly, I met this amazing young director named Thomas E. Oliver, who had a TIFF screening the next night, his film is called “1982”, starring Hill Harper, LaLa Anthony (Knicks Player, Carmelo Anthony’s wife) and other actors.  Thomas and I chatted a bit and we talked about TIFF and everything in life. And he invited me to his screening. Trust me, it was a screening to remember. I will tell you more later on my experience at his film 1982 at a later blog. Stay tuned!

All-in-all, it was a great night! Open bar, free food, great backdrop! It’s all fun and games and good time with the celebrities and athletes.
