Mackage, has developed into a very well-known brand in Canada and globally. It’s an outerwear collections that are creatively designed with sexy detailing and tailored cuts in leather, puffy and wool. Every World Mastercard Fashion Week (WMCFW), it is a show stopper. A show that every one wants to attend and see what the designers, Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan have in store for each coming seasons.
I love leather jackets and Mackage is famous for it’s quality, its fitting and designs, so I was super excited to attend the Mackage runway show.
The second runway show at the World Mastercard Fashion Week (WMCFW) for the evening for the MoVernie on the MOVE to attend was Narces. Narces is designed by talented Nikki Wirthensohn. It is a womenswear line that specializes in after-five, evening and wedding wear. I am a big fan of her fashion and I recalled one of my favourite moments covering the fashion week was a few years back, at the backstage, her daughter was standing an the backdrop. A photographer told her daughter to pose and she did. I also recalled Nikki was hugging her daughter afterwards. To me, that was a precious moment and I always remembered that.
This year, Narces delivered yet again with beautiful collections of womenswear. In particular, I really like the last finale piece when the model was wearing this very delicate, detail-oriented, pure wedding dress. I think it was the highlight of the night for me. As Nikki walked out with the model wearing that dress to thank the crowd, it was purely special! You can see this dress for yourself at the photos I am providing below.
This past Wednesday, MoVernie on the MOVE continues…@ World MasterCard Fashion Week (WMCFW). There were 3 runway shows to attend and the first one was the Hilary MacMillan Runway Show. I met Hilary a few weeks ago the Exclusive VIP Celeb Lounge called “The Stylist Box” that was located at the Trump Hotel Penthouse Suite. During our conversation, I could definitely tell that Hilary is a down-to-earth person with a creative minds and vision to her fashion collection.
It’s nice to get to meet her at The Stylist Box event during TIFF and then seeing her collections at the WMCFW event. What I also love about Hilary’s runway show was the use of a live band. The live performance set the mood instantly before the start of the show which I really love that.
Below are the snapshots that I took at Hilary MacMillan’s Runway Show at WMCFW.
Redken. Maybelline. Super hot models. Backstage access.
I went to the Toronto Fashion Week last night at the Metro Hall with and had the most amazing, fashion experience. Rather than watching one of the fashion shows (in which I missed, sadly. But got something better out of it!), I went behind-the-scenes where it was bustling with hairstylists and make-up artists and got to experience first hand how fashion show’s really work!
Among the hundreds of artists backstage, Jorge Joao was there himself- Redken’s lead hairstylist and lead stylist for Toronto’s Fashion Week! Jorge was packed with humour and fun, but incredibly welcoming and gracious. On top of that, he worked with incredible precision, quality and speed. The man lives up to his amazing reputation!
We also met Maybelline New YorkCanada’s lead make-up artist, Grace Lee! Although she was incredibly busy, she let us ask her questions and allowed for pictures! We are incredibly grateful for her time and experience as she discussed about make-up styles, products (baby lips anyone?), the Toronto Fashion Week experience and much more!
After hanging out backstage, we went to the front- media center to explore some of the sponsors and their products. We visited sponsor booths ranging from Pandora, to Ritz-Carlton, to TargetCanada!
Before we headed off for the Raptors first home pre-season game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, we went and checked out the Real Sports Apparel and see what new merchandize they have. I have been to this store numerous times but everytime, there’s always something new in the store.
It is indeed a one-stop all-sports gear store. From basketball, baseball, hockey to football and much much more!
I was very interested in the Raptors Black Jacket. I love the combination of colours. Maybe it would be a great christmas gift for myself.
To my amusement, lots of vintage, retro basketball jerseys, from Rodman to Bird, to Pippen. I got to say, I have special memory when I saw Black Orlando Magic Shaq O’Neal jersey. Also, the retro Vancouver Grizzlies Mike Bibby is a historical jersey. I still remember Bryan “Big Country” Reeves! Those were the days with the All-Canada Rivalry.
Anyone loves football? They have the gear! I think the Leafs Jerseys for David Clarkson, Bernier & Bolland are hot items.
Go take a tour of the Real Sports Apparel beofre you head for the game.
Surmesur means “made to measure” in french, as explained by the 2 fashion designers/owners. Surmesur is well-established in Quebec City and Montreal, so they have decided to set-foot to open up a Toronto location as well.
Grand opening of Surmesur as I was invited with a VIP access. Open bar, finger foods, got to meet up with the 2 young fashion entrepreneurs. They have injected technology to help tailormade your best fit suits, all using ipad, computerized screens to help you visualize how you look with certain fabrics and colour designs, along with state-of-the-art body scan to scan your body figure, every inch will help you look good at an affordable price!
On top of that, this store sells ties, cufflinks, pocket squares, belts, etc. It has everything you need in one store!
You got to check this amazing store located at 108 Queen.
